The Environmental Transparency Rating of Eurasian oil and gas companies-2020 will be presented on December 4
On December 4, 2020 at 12.00 at the ITAR TASS press center, the results of the “Environmental Transparency Rating of Eurasian oil and gas companies 2020” will be presented. The event will also host an online round table “Energy Transition – Eurasian Context” dedicated to the challenges of decarbonization for the oil and gas industry in Russia, Europe and Asia.

The energy transition has become a global movement. More and more countries and companies are adopting ambitious plans for decarbonization and sustainable development. Russian and Eurasian oil and gas companies are also moving in this direction: they declare their aspirations to achieve carbon neutrality, implement renewable energy projects, develop hydrogen energy strategies and mechanisms for reducing greenhouse gases. The course towards a green economy has become the global scenario for overcoming the COVID-19 crisis.
At the same time, 2020 has been an unprecedented year in terms of accidental oil spills, which testifies to the deterioration of infrastructure, insufficient investment and irreversible global warming, which threatens not only the oil and gas industry, but all of humanity.
The joint WWF Russia and CREON Group “Environmental Transparency Rating of Oil and Gas Companies” has been monitoring information openness in the industry since 2014.
The results of the 2020 rating will be presented by Ekaterina Khmeleva, WWF Russia Director for Legal and Economic Affairs, Aleska Simkic, Deputy Head of EU Delegation to Russia, Vladimir Moshkalo, Head of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) in Russia, Dr. Fares Kilzie, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CREON Group and Viktor Chetverikov, Managing Director on NRA development projects.
The round table “Energy Transition – Eurasian Context” will be attended by Michael Harms, Executive Director of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, Tadzio Schilling, General Director of the Association of European Businesses (AEB), as well as representatives oil and gas business – Alexander Ishkov, Deputy Head of Department, Head of Department PJSC Gazprom, Vasily Zubakin, Head of the Department for Coordination of Energy Sales and Operations, PJSC Lukoil and other participants.
The event will be moderated by Alexey Knizhnikov, head of the WWF-Russia environmental responsibility program.
